Goodwill offers a unique quality assurance plan to it’s customers that includes; documented inspections, custom technology plans, customer evaluations, on-site management along with D.R.R service (Document – Respond – Rectify), that is offered to all Goodwill’s off-site projects. All potential complaints are documented, responded to in-person by a member of the Goodwill management team, and are then rectified within a two-hour time frame. Goodwill continues to be a leader in this field due to the quality and nature of our project management structure as well as our highly trained staff.

Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance: With years of experience, Goodwill has been providing Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance to its Federal and Commercial customers. This ranges from daily lawn and grounds services to tree management.

Food Service: Goodwill has recently partnered with the Maricopa County Skill Center to offer food service training to individuals with disabilities, along with managing and operating a cafeteria service for Goodwill’s charter high school.

Document Destruction: Relatively new to this service, Goodwill has the capability of providing scheduled pick-up or on-site Document Destruction to it’s Federal and Commercial customers.

Employee Demographics:

Goodwill of Central Arizona is committed to providing full time and part time employment opportunities, at a “livable wage”, to individuals in the community, regardless of their economic, social or physical barriers to employment. The vast majority (over 80%) of the employees in our Commercial Services Department are individuals with a diagnosed physical or emotional disability. Additionally, Goodwill works closely with welfare recipients and other low-income individuals to ensure that they are afforded equal opportunity to succeed in life through gainful employment. Every year Goodwill of Central Arizona works with over 4,600 individuals seeking employment assistance – and the vast majority live below Federal standards of poverty. As a result of working in the Commercial Services Department of Goodwill, individuals have the opportunity to earn well-above minimum wage, and work toward living self-sufficient and more productive lives.

“Ever since I started working for Goodwill, it’s like my whole life has changed. I used to be really shy and I didn’t like talking to people. In the beginning, my supervisor had to really spend time with me. Now – I have my high school diploma, I have won service awards and recognition from different groups, and I’m one of the lead people on my janitorial crew. It’s just amazing to me how different life is with a great job, working for good people, and being supported when life gets tough. Thank you for the opportunity!”

Goodwill staff member since 2001

“Gabriel Lewis was born deaf, mute and almost totally blind in one eye. He’s been working with the Goodwill Janitorial Services crew at the Sandra Day O’Connor Federal Building for a few years now. When Gabriel started – he really needed full time supervision. After a period of one-on-one training, he can work alone, he produces high quality work, and he’s even been able to provide basic direction and guidance to new employees when they need it. Gabriel is a perfect example of the power of work.”

Steven Ingram,
Goodwill Commercial Services Supervisor

Goodwill consistently provides high quality, timely services and often goes ‘above and beyond’ their contractual obligation to provide customer service and satisfaction. The GSA rates Goodwill Community Services as either excellent or outstanding in all areas of performance, including timeliness of performance. Because Goodwill utilizes cost cutting measures, including reducing supply costs by over 50%, there has been a marked increase in productivity, efficiency and quality of services delivered over the past year.”

Michael Larson,
Senior Property Manager for US General Services Administration in Phoenix
